Relate Error:

Windows XP: missing sccbase.dll/slbcsp.dll files for hp printer install

Issues stopping installation:

slbcsp.dll (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\Defaults\Provider\Schlumberger)
This is a Cryptographic Service Provider manufactured by Microsoft.

sccbase.dll (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography|Defaults\Provider|Infineon)
This is a SICRYPT Base Smart Card CSP manufactured by Microsoft.

How to resolve:

If you setup vista, You need to go to HP's website and look under Support>Download Drivers
for your specific model devices. If the devices have Vista drivers,download and install them per whatever HP's instructions are. If you don't see any Vista drivers, contact HP to find out if they will be writing drivers for your devices.

And please also try this:

 Then uninstall the drivers from your computer. To do so:

1. Disconnect the HP All-in-One from the computer.

2. Press the On button to turn off the HP All-in-One.

3. On the Windows taskbar, click Start , Start Programs or All Programs (XP), Hewlett-Packard , HP Photosmart 2570 All-in-One series , and Uninstall .

4. Follow the onscreen instructions.

5. If you are asked whether you would like to remove shared files, click No . Other programs that use these files might not work properly if the files are deleted.

6. Restart the computer.

Then INSTALL THE NEW DRIVERS and re-start your computer; again, normally you shouldn't have to do this but you're having printing problems so...

Make sure your printer is turned off.

Connect your printer to your computer.

Your computer should install your printer automatically.

If your computer with windows xp sp2, please also try:

if it complained about files: sccbase.dll, gpkcsp.dll, slbcsp.dll. Solved that problem by grabbing those files from another WinXP c:\windows\system32 folder. Also export the branch "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\Defaults\Provider", and then import it to the WinXP Stripped Bones machine.
